Two Land Sharks

October 2017Documentary FilmTake to the Road

This film celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the Porsche 928. Dubbed the Land Shark, the 928 was Porsche's first front engine V8 GT. The brief from Take to the Road was to interview 928 fan Alistair Walter about his passion for the model. Filming was spread over 4 months and took in 3 different locations. The key objective was to capture the cars unique style and sound and pay tribute to a car that set new standards for the German marque.

Stanley Steam Car

July 2017Documentary FilmTake to the Road

Now this was a fun film to make. It's not everyday you get asked to shoot with a vintage car. And for it to be a vintage Stanley Model K Steam car as well, made it very special. The Stanley Model K was a fast car for its time and was actually considered a sports car. The most fascinating bit of the shoot was the 20mins it took to fire up the car. A series of valves and pumps had to be operated. It was not a turn key car like we are so used to today. It sure was an eye opener to a by gone era of motoring.

Italian Passion - Mittiga Tuning

March 2017Documentary FilmTake to the Road

For this project Classic Cine flew to Rome to meet with Mittiga Tuning. In their small workshop they specialise in tuning Fiat and Lancia engines. Their work is highly skilled and comes from decades of experience preparing racing engines. It was fascinating watching their bespoke Fiat 128 engine fire up. The mechanical fuel injection system was a work of art. It was great to see that old fashioned, traditional engine tuning was very much alive in this little workshop.

The Electric VW Beetle

September 2016Documentary FilmTake to the Road

This particular project was an interesting one. It combined a nicely restored classic VW Beetle with a modern electric conversion, all set in the Welsh countryside. Filming was originally planned over 2 days but the notorious Welsh weather broke in the mountains, so the shoot had to be compressed into one day. We were very happy with the end result, as was the client.

A very British wedge - The Triumph TR7

August 2015Documentary FilmTake to the Road

The Triumph TR7 was the last Triumph convertible, which brought an end to a long line of very successful British roadsters. For this film we documented the owners childhood dream to one day own a TR7. A dream he managed to make a reality one day when he finally found his Triumph. This is what owning classics is all about.

This Beetle is a real Sleeper

July 2015Documentary FilmTake to the Road

This film has proven to be Take to the Road's most popular and has pulled in over 460,000 views. It stars a customised classic VW Beetle that has had a lot of care and attention lavished on it over a 15 year period. The upgrades have made this a very quick Beetle and it is one of the nicest examples we have seen for some time.
